Another comment concerned limited "visiting hours". Yes they are here and at most behavioral facilities, in fact, some have no visiting hours at all. Again this is for the safety of all concerned. This limits the possibility of contraband items being entered into a facility. Also this is a very unstable population and it is difficult to ensure the safety of visitors in facilities such as this.

With regards to the direct care staff and nursing, as an experienced nurse I can honestly say this staff is as dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring as anywhere I have worked.

I am an RN who works and has worked in several behavioral settings. Flint River Hospital is also Riverside Treatment Center, with medical and behavioral settings. Would like to comment on some of the negative criticism expressed by a couple of reviewers. One comment states patient "held against will", this is true of most behavioral admits here and elsewhere. Patients are judged by an ED MD, judge, or officer of the law to be a danger to themselves or others and as such are not allowed to leave until cleared by a psychiatrist, vastly different from a medical admit where the patient may freely leave against medical advice.

T 5 stars really need to reconsider your mentality. Staff are disgusting towards patients,food I would not call food, there are roaches,nothing to keep the patients happy! Might as well lock people up in a box other if you're considering here! SHUT DOWN ASAP

This place is more like jail shower our gross food is horrible the nurses are rude I don't like the fact you see the doctors on a computer

This place has to be the worst Hospital ever!!!! they talk a good game on the website but please do not ever let anyone you know be treated in this place, the Program the claim they offer is never followed. In a 5 day stay I seen the Medical Dr. once and they never followed up with my High BP issue. only got to see a counselor for about 10 mins. the Dr. on the Screen as everyone calls him was only seen me for less the 20 mins the whole stay of 5 days. when I ask one of the Nurses how long I had to be in their I was told , If you Don't have insurance 3 days and if you have insurance 5 days. the only group meeting consisted of the group leader person playing music from you tube, coloring pages or go outside to play cards. all of the staff was more concerned with playing on cell phones. I even watched a new patient have a seizure on the floor of his room and it took over 10 mins. before a nurse came to check on him. So please never let anyone you know go to this place voluntary or Involuntary. I will say some of the staff was very Nice but only a select few!! This place should be shut Down ASAP!!!!! The Counselor and Dr. I see Now was Horrified when I told them of the conditions of this place and the Extreme lack of any Real Treatment programs as the indicate on the daily schedule.
